3.4 will be wonderfull for localized versions, but could I ask once again for stats? It was requested several times by translators: https://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/tag/stats/ We make localized versions, but we do not know how many people use them. These information are available, but translators are banned 😦 Please, what should I do to make it happen? Should I create ticket in Trac?

I’ve found some discussions about localized version stats here:
http://lists.automattic.com/pipermail/wp-polyglots/2009-November/thread.html#3804
http://lists.automattic.com/pipermail/wp-polyglots/2009-December/thread.html#3862
http://lists.automattic.com/pipermail/wp-polyglots/2010-February/thread.html#4139But there are no conclusions!
I’d like to know how I can get the download counter/stats for a localized version?Regards

Download counters per locale are not active right now, sorry.

Download counters per locale (for standalone .org version) worked well more than a year ago.
Then translators were banned (Matt wrote that it is private page).
I was the one who tried to publicize this problem in polyglots list.
Many times I wrote about this problem, but no real reaction.
These stats exist, but translators are banned.
Why?
What can we do to access these stats?
We translate and publicize WordPress and we are not allowed to see how many users use our work… -

Can we hope that this feature will be available for us?

Thank you, Sergey, I forgot this existing ticket. There should be probably some general solution related to Language packs (available stats for localized plugins and themes, etc). But now, it would be helpfull to bring back only some basic numbers to translators… If these numbers are not for public use (why?), there could be for example special Stats admin page on Rosetta site (every language could see their own stats).

I will make localized stats public this cycle.

I couldn’t figure out where to put them on front-facing locale sites, but Dashboard -> Download Stats will show the same Download Counter numbers, broken down by locale.

That’s really great, thank you.
Would it also be possible to see the usage stats for different WP versions (like http://wordpress.org/about/stats/) broken down by locale?

We’ll get there, but it’ll take some time. We’ve been working on re-writing our stats collection code, because our numbers are in incredible flux. Once that’s done and we’re more confident in our numbers, we’ll ideally have more statistics out there.
