    Hello,

    Greetings!

I am not sure this is the right place, but I also wish to be a validator for Tamil at WordPress.com. Please add me.

    Bage.

In principle no, but it looks like a Tamil translation isn’t being maintained, aside from this Google Group (which I can’t read). It would maybe a good ideia to present the Getting Started guide to that group and see if you can gather a team for the Tamil translation.

Bage, I see that you also posted your request on the WordPress.com Translations forum (which is the right place) – I’ve responded there, thanks!

I have just noticed in the update page of wordpress (ta_LK) installation, the link to “3.3-ta_LK download” leads to http://ta.wordpress.org/wordpress-3.3-ta_LK.zip instead of http://ta-lk.wordpress.org/wordpress-3.3-ta_LK.zip

    How do I fix it?

    Thank you.

I can, but keep in mind that, from now on, you will need a ta-lk.wordpress.org site, see: https://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/2011/07/19/validators-are-now-controlled-through-rosetta/#comment-3746

Actually we have the ta-lk.wordpress.org site and I am the admin and doing validation. But Tamil(Sri Lanka) didn’t get added to the mentioned projects. I am not sure how to add that from the ta-lk.wordpress.org admin panel.

You cannot add the projects (we still need to do that), but you need the site to manage validators, even if you’re the only one.

Yes I understand that, And i will do that through the site (i went through your post explaining that) . my initial request is to add the language to those projects.

Ok. Could you indicate the site’s title and description? Something like:

              Title: WordPress தமிழ் (இலங்கை)
Description: (the equivalent of “WordPress in Tamil (Sri Lanka)”, in your language)

                Ze,

We already have the site. It is in http://ta-lk.wordpress.org/. Please check.

                    Hello Zé,

I see the tamil (Sri lanka) has been added to WordPress for Android, WordPress for BlackBerry, WordPress for Windows Phone and to WordPress Plugins. But when i try to translate, they stay in waiting. (I have editor role in ta-lk.wordpress.org).

When i add translations to the ones i have been translating for a while (Wordpres, bbpress etc..) they get directly saved.

                    Could you please check?

                    Bage.

i tried, but no luck. The only projects i am not able to validate are “WordPress for Android”, “WordPress for Blackberry” and “WordPress for Windows Mobile”.

All the other projects I am able to validate without any problem.

                        Bage.

ze´, you actually added tamil, not Tamil (sri lanka). Please add Tamil (Sri Lanka) or add me to moderator for Tamil too. ( I hate to have two Tamils as they are exactly same).

    I need some clarifications.

I started translating the future version 3.1 not the old ones. Is it right or not? Do I have to do anything in SVN repo? I wanted to know because the build page tells about some files in /dist folder.

Could you guys please add tamil(sri lanka) to twentyten too?

    Bage.

    Hi,

I really wanted to start translating wordpress into Tamil. There was an active community before but I don’t know what happened, the Tamil language doesn’t even appear in wordpress.org

I checked the glotpress page (3.1), Tamil is not there. Please guide me to start doing it and I will promise i will continue it forever.

    Bage.

      Site Title: WordPress Tamil
      validator Username: bagerathan

      Please.

        “WordPress in Tamil”

Isn’t there a sentence in Tamil for this? Ideally just “Tamil (Sri Lanka)” or similar as “WordPress” is already part of the title.

“தமிழ் மொழியில் wordpress” is the one need to go there.

“forever” is a loong time 😉

http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev/ta-lk/default is setup and you (bagerathan) are the validator. I’ll start on the .org site and svn, but be aware that it’ll have to be named ta-lk.wordpress.org.
