Hi!
I’d like to create a translation of WP in Aragonese (ISO code an). Some other people from Softaragonese (http://wiki.softaragones.org) plan to join the team. As we have some experience with pootle, we are thinking in doing it using http://pootle.locamotion.org/projects/wordpress/ What would be next steps?

The first steps are outlined here: http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/translators-handbook-draft/
A note: to fully enjoy the automated packaging and distribution of new versions and updates, I strongly recommend using this instance of GlotPress as the translation platform. Nothing against using locamotion, but just make sure to keep the files for packaging current.

Fine, I’ll follow then your advice, and use GlotPress. I imagine it allows .po files import and export, right?.
I can see that Aragonese is already at locales.php http://glotpress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk/locales/locales.php ($an)
Then, I request the creation of a subversion repository, support for Aragonese, etc.
WordPress.org username of the administrator: juanpabl76 (my wordpress.org username, but my account in Glotpress is: juanpabl )
Language code: an
Language name, both the English and the native name: Aragonese, Aragonés
No need for country name, as the language is only spoken in Spain (es).
A Subversion repository: http://i18n.svn.wordpress.org/an/
A rosetta site: http://an.wordpress.org
A forum: http://an.support.wordpress.org
Support for translating all GlotPress’ projects
Thanks for you support!

There is *no* ‘juanpabl76′ in WordPress.org, although I see a ‘juanpabl’. Also I didn’t understand ‘my account in Glotpress’. Those accounts are tied to the WordPress.org accounts (remember that this P2 has nothing to do with WordPress.COM translations)

Sorry, I confounded both sites. My account at http://translate.wordpress.org/ is ‘juanpabl’. I think it is the one you need. Thanks!

You’re all set

However, I cannot see Aragonese here: translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev can you check it? Thanks!

Hi again Zé, can I import a .po file with GlotPress? Or should I ask you or anyone else to do it?
In our team, we apply machine translation (offline) to the .po file as a departing point, and mark all the machine translations as fuzzy. Then, we check online, one by one, all the translations, and do all the changes that are needed. So, I’d like to upload a .po file full of fuzzy translations, and begin woking on it online.

You should be able to import a .po to GlotPress (you’re a validator). There’s a link on the footer of GlotPress.
